How to create allocations in Tedy

Learn how to create allocations in Tedy and understand how to manage their settings.

Allocations allow you to assign budgets to employees within a program. Once configured, they are automatically applied based on the parameters you set.

Allocations are not automatically granted when an employee joins Tedy—they must be created and configured within each program.

How do allocations work?

Allocations are created directly within a program and can be:

  • Recurring (monthly or annually)

  • One-time payments

Each allocation lets you define:

  • Who receives the allocation

  • When it is distributed (specific date or frequency start)

  • An internal note (visible only to your organization)

Allocations can also be used to adjust balances, including assigning negative amounts if needed.

How to create an allocation

To create an allocation:

  1. Go to the Programs section

  2. Open the program you want to assign the allocation to

  3. Click Create an allocation (top right corner)

  4. Configure the allocation according to your preferences

  5. Save your changes

The allocation will then run automatically based on the defined settings.

Can I modify an allocation amount or undo an allocation?

Yes - you can modify an employee’s balance or undo an allocation by creating a negative allocation.

Negative allocations follow the same configuration rules as regular allocations. This can be useful for balance adjustments, corrections, or reversing allocations that were granted in error.

Please note that the employee will receive a notification showing the negative allocation amount applied to their balance.

Can I edit an allocation’s frequency?

No.

  • Allocation frequency cannot be edited once the allocation is created

  • To change the frequency, you must:

    • Delete the existing allocation

    • Create a new one with the desired frequency
